Holiday Decorating With Air Plants

Dec 2, 2019by Jamie Beck

We LOVE the holidays around here at Air Plant Design Studio. Even though it's the busiest time of year, it is also a fun time to decorate with air plants. From mini globe terrariums used as tree ornaments, to air plant wreaths and garlands, there are numerous possibilities to include unique air plants in your holiday decor.

One of our favorite ways to incorporate air plants is in a festive air plant wreath. It is an easy DIY project and makes a stunning statement on a door. Just keep in mind if you live in a cold climate, you might need to display this wreath on the inside of your door as these are living tropical plants that don't thrive in temperatures under 40 degrees.

All you need to create a beautiful air plant wreath is a grapevine wreath, wire or glue, various air plants in different sizes and textures, and a few accents like moss, berries, or sprigs of pine/eucalyptus.

Terrariums are a fun way to add a little holiday flair to your space, especially hanging on a tree or entryway, or even placed amongst other holiday decor.

Holiday parties, Christmas dinner, New Years Eve, and other events call for festive table decor, and if you use air plants, you won't be disappointed! These plants are the perfect accent to traditional holiday decor. We love the way that the Beijos team styled this holiday table scape with air plants!

As you can see you can add air plants into all aspects of your holiday decorating! They add a unique natural feel to table scapes and mantles, and are a fun addition to a holiday terrarium.
